My Review of "The Elephant Man"

This movie was just fantastic! Once you get the true meaning of the movie you will realize that the meaning is reeeallly DEEP!  This movie reflects the abuse the Earth is inflicted on based on the technology that we humans, have created for satisfy our own desires.  John Merrick is a symbol for Jesus in a way to show the sins that we have created upon the Earth. David Lynch had an amazing idea and i feel that he should have won all 8 nominations for the academy awards along with Best Director, Best Picture and Best Actor. At first i thought that the movie was just about a guy with an ugly deformity and how he is abused and looked down upon society. The after much discussion in class, i see that his figure is not ugly! The ugly figure is how people see him and treat him for something he could not control. Overall, i think this movie has really impacted me in trying to see the true meaning of a movie rather than to make opinions based on what is shown.
